Both George and Gail's parents and grandparents were active participants in the horse world. George's great grandfather, "Doc Lauder", came west in 1874 as a veterinarian with the Northwest Mounted Police. In 1923 George’s grandfather was the first winner of the now worldCovered Round Pen famous Chuck Wagon Race at the Calgary Stampede and has been inducted into the Canadian Cowboy Hall of Fame. Gail’s father started horses and was an Indoor Stallsactive rodeo participant in the 1930s while continuing to ranch the land that his family homesteaded in the 1880s. Gail's family's homestead is the same piece of land that both Lauder Ranch and Gregg Lauder Reining Horses calls home today. George is Lauder Ranch’s manager and along with Gail, take care of all the clients and horses at the ranch. When George is not working hard at the Ranch he actively supports the local horse community participating as a Ring Steward, NRHA Representative, and Scribe at major AQHA and NRHA shows in Alberta.
